What Would You Do With It – WWYD Wednesday

Yesterday, I showed you my CD rack turned scarf and belt holder. Now it’s your turn to tell me what you would do with it. Maybe I’ll even steal one of your ideas and re-purpose it again! I’ll bet someone can figure out some way to make this into a piece of art. Michelle Trash to Treasure Decorating View the full post at http://www.trashtotreasuredecorating.com

Transformation Tuesday – Repurposed CD Rack

I’m going to squeak a T2T makeover in here quick before the end of the day. I had a speaking event today and a big one coming up in a few days, so I couldn’t spend much time on transforming anything. However, I had just removed my CD’s from their rack and put them on a new shelf that I found at a garage sale. They’ll get less dusty on the new shelf and it holds lots more. So I was left with this CD holder… It’s about 4 feet tall, even though it doesn’t appear very tall in the […]

Another Fan Cage Project – WWYD?

Yesterday, I showed you a fan cage project from fellow blogger Little Miss Lovely. Today, I found another fan cage idea…Yes, I can hear you groaning because you just threw one of these out last week when the 100+ temps did your fan in. Sorry! Brooklyn Modern features a fan turned into a classy light. Photo from Brooklyn Modern Who knew? Check out the full post for more information about the project. So, these projects got me thinking…What would my readers do with a broken fan? For today’s What Would You Do Wednesday (WWYD), I’m wondering what you would make […]

What Would You Do Wednesday – Vintage Lunch Box

Today’s WWYD comes from one of my readers. Aimee writes, “I have my “old” Holly Hobbie lunch box.  I would like an idea to decorate or reuse it a unique way.  Any ideas would be appreciated.” I had one of these lunch pails too, Aimee! Let’s see if we can help Aimee figure out what to do with hers. I can’t wait to read your comments. And if you have a photo of something you did with an old lunch box, feel free to send it via e-mail (see the contact tab) and I’ll happily post ideas. I imagine Aimee’s […]

Transformation Tuesday- Window Sash Fireplace Screen

I stumbled upon this great project when I was browsing the internet, and I’m thinking this would be a great project for my faux fireplace. It’s great for a real fireplace too! Diane, from In My Own Style has many wonderful trash to treasure transformations. She turned this window sash into a fabulous fireplace screen. She started with a plain window. Photo belongs to Diane at In My Own Style Then, she used shelf brackets to make it stand up. You’ll find the full and fantastically detailed tutorial on her blog post. She used mirror paint (which she shows in […]

Before and After Vanity

Last week, Jessica sent me some before and after pictures of a writing desk that she made over into a vanity for her bedroom. She found it at a yard sale for $5 and purchased paint for $14. Then she spruced it up even more with new knobs from Anthropologie for $24. Her grand total was $43 and it fit perfect with her budget for a vanity. Thanks Jessica for the reader mail! I love your project. Now, the moment you’re all waiting for…the transformation. Before: And after: I love those knobs! They add a lot of character. Here they […]

Thrifty Thursday – Repurposed Calf Pail

I grew up on a dairy farm and when my dad cleaned out the last of the shed after he sold the farm, I let a lot of great T2T stuff go because I hadn’t yet thought of all of the great uses for it. But a while back, I was at a garage sale and saw this calf pail for $1 and snatched it up.   There’s a hole down on the bottom where the bottle nipple would attach. This is perfect for giving flowers good drainage. I put a rock loosely over the hole before filling the pail with […]
