Inspired Life

I enjoyed chatting with author Jane Rubietta in this episode! I met her for the first time when she spoke for an event in 2000 in my hometown. That's when I first learned about a writer's conference (Write-to-Publish) that she was part of, and I was exploring my own writing possibilities. I've always enjoyed her books and her writing voice. Jane and I talked about her writing journey and her latest book, Brilliance. There is a lot of need for light in our world right now! Be sure to listen to the audio link to hear our discussion about misconceptions about struggles and how we can overcome darkness.

Life, Repurposed

It’s easy to moan and groan in hard times, but Jane shared some practical tools she uses when life is hard and when we need an attitude adjustment. I could relate to so many of the messages in her book, and the #Fail chapter spoke to my current needs. We talked about what people need right now where there are disagreements, political unrest, a pandemic, and more in our world. There is hope! We can find light in the darkness when we change our focus to God's goodness and on truth.

Listen to the episode to hear the whole conversation!

Jane and I talked about her newest book Brilliance: Finding Light in Dark Places. The book can be used for individual daily devotions or for a group study. In it, Jane uses her beautiful style of telling a story with a combination of literary techniques, humor, and spiritual application to deliver heartfelt inspiration that gets me right where I need it.

We've never needed light more. Brilliance: Finding Light in Dark Places draws readers toward God in the midst of difficulties and darkness, such as pain, abandonment, discouragement. Diverse reads include life anecdotes and illustrations, as well as deeper looks at familiar passages. A six-week devotional with application, 35 emotive readings lead to God's character, love, and ultimately our action in this world. Weekend segues provide reflection and further application for a life-changing journey out of darkness and into light. Great for small groups and virtual gatherings

I've been enjoying using this book for my morning devotions!
