When you don’t want to put a broken monitor in a landfill, this is one way to repurpose it! I could have repurposed it just as it was, but I decided I didn’t like the silver frame around the screen, so I chalk painted the frame. I neglected to take a before picture of the monitor! Oops!
I taped off the screen with painter’s tape, and then brushed on an antique white paint.
After the paint dried, I waxed it. I left the black parts of. the monitor as is.
The finished product stands on my kitchen counter as a way of writing little notes to my husband. A white chalkboard marker (the wet erase kind) works perfect on the memo board. I love having a bigger purpose when I repurpose an item. This one was to have something fun that I could use to leave words of affirmation for my husband.
If you’ve never read The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman, I highly recommend it. Words of affirmation are one of the 5 love languages.
Have something you repurposed? I love sharing your pictures on my Trash to Treasure Decorating Facebook page!
